Why I Still Love WordPress – Even After 100 Projects

A decade later, countless sites later – and I still choose WordPress.

Back in the early days

When I first touched WordPress, it wasn’t the polished CMS it is today. It was simple, sometimes clunky, but endlessly flexible. That flexibility is what kept me hooked. Over time, I moved from small blogs to complex WooCommerce shops, but the core strength remained: you can shape WordPress into almost anything you want.

100 projects later

Some people say you get tired of tools you use every day. For me, WordPress has been the opposite. After more than 100 projects, I’ve seen its weaknesses, yes – but I’ve also seen how much it can evolve. From Gutenberg to WooCommerce to REST APIs, it’s still growing with the web itself.

Why I stick with it

  • Flexibility: Themes, plugins, custom code – it adapts to the project, not the other way around.
  • Community: There’s always someone who’s solved a problem before you – and shared the solution.
  • Future-proof: It keeps moving forward without losing its roots.

The personal side

For me, WordPress isn’t just a CMS – it’s the reason I built a career in web development. It gave me a starting point, and it still challenges me today. That’s why, even after 100+ projects, I’m not done with it. In fact, I’m just getting started with what I can build on top of it.
